Travel Logistics

To keep things entirely straightforward and transparent, here is how travel expenses are handled to help cover fuel, maintenance, and wear and tear on my personal vehicle.

Photography Travel Structure

  • There is no travel fee for photography.

  • I do not travel further than 50 miles outside of Saint Paul, MN.

Videography Travel Structure

  • The First 100 Miles Are On Me: Because videography often requires heavy gear logistics, every videography booking includes the first 100 miles of total round-trip travel completely free of charge.

  • After the First 100 Miles: Any additional round-trip mileage beyond the initial 100 miles is billed at a flat rate of $0.75 per mile.

Real-World Example (Videography)

To see how this looks in practice, if your wedding takes place in Mankato, MN:

Travel Detail

Total Round-Trip Miles           190

Included Free Mileage        - 100

Total Billable Miles               = 90

Travel Fee (90 × $0.75)         $67.50

Note: All travel distances are calculated transparently using Google Maps from my home in Saint Paul, MN to your venue location.

Overnight Lodging (Videography)

  • For weddings or events that require an unusually early arrival, late departure, or extended travel time, overnight lodging may be required to ensure safe and reliable coverage.

  • When an overnight stay is necessary based on the event location, coverage hours, and overall travel schedule, a $200 lodging fee will be added to the travel estimate. This covers the cost of a standard nearby hotel room and overnight travel expenses.

  • If reasonable hotel rates in the event area exceed $200 per night, the lodging fee may be adjusted to reflect the actual cost of a suitable nearby hotel. Any lodging requirement and estimated cost will be discussed with you in advance before booking.

  • Lodging is separate from the mileage travel fee.

  • Out-of-state elopements may require a different breakdown of travel, and are individualized with the package. Head to the Elopement Contact Form page to fill out your elopement details, and I will get back to you with your personalized travel logistics.
